CYARK

It is always easier to destroy than build. It is cheaper to blow up than it is to build or preserve. War is the great eraser of history as it is a time of almost unchecked destruction. Dresden is an example of that. The Canadian war memorial at Vimy ridge is an example of just the opposite. Hitler, who wanted to burn Paris to the ground, wanted to preserve the Vimy memorial as it does not signify "to arms", but to suffering.

The CYARK organization is a non-profit entity whose mission is to digitally preserve cultural heritage sites through collecting, archiving and providing open access to data created by laser scanning, digital modeling, and other state-of-the-art technologies.
