Working in the underwater environment for a few years in equipment ranging from basic SCUBA to the USN Mark 5 diving suit I understand how easy it is to get lost. I am not refering to not knowing where you are but forgetting where you are and becoming aware of what is around you, knowing that so few people have actually experienced what it is you are experiencing.
An astronaught would have the same experience, but a few hundred miles away from your experience.
When you think about it, a diving suit or a space suit is simply the means to an end. It is the vehicle that permits you to perform your assigned task in an inhospitable environment. An astronaught and a diver are basically your average worker suiting up for work in something other than a business suit or pair of coveralls.
